For anyone with a computer
Turn it Off from Nigel Upchurch on Vimeo.
http://vimeo.com/15866184
74% of people in the US use a computer every day at their jobs.
79% of Germans also use a computer every day, and from a workforce 40 million strong, the math tells us that 31 million PCs are in daily use. The same survey notes that 44% of office workers in Germany leave their computers on at the end of the day.
Which means: 14 million computers left on over nights and weekends, which in a year uses up the same amount of electricity generated by 871 wind turbines.
So unless you have several wind turbines to spare, save those AutoCAD files and turn off your machine. We’ll be doing the same.
